TOURNAMENTS

NTPGA JUNIOR GOLF FOUNDATION:

The NORTHERN TEXAS PGA Section, through its foundation, Junior Golf Tournaments.  Basically it is set up for the different skill levels with three different levels of tournaments.  The Prep Tour is more for ages 7 thru 11 with less experience and the tournaments are played as nine hole events on different courses and types of course such as Par 3's, Executive courses, and regulation courses.  The Medalist Tour is for ages 12 thru 18 with better skills and experience and plays 18 holes only regulation courses.  The Masters Tour events are for upper level skilled players.  There are also some Invitational events. 

The cost to join the NTPGA JUNIOR GOLF FOUNDATION is $50.00 per year and there is a charge to enter each event.  For additional information, contact Dave Anderson at the NTPGA office at 972-429-1111 Ext 104.

TGI TOURNAMENTS AT NORTH TEXAS GOLF CENTER:

THE GOLF INSTITUTE sponsors tournaments at various times of the year for ages 7 thru 15 and are held at NORTH TEXAS GOLF CENTER which is a 9 hole lighted Par 3 course. 

  • DALLAS MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP: One of the few Match Play tournaments around.  There is a Qualifying round in late May and the matches are played during the rest of the summer until the finals in early August. It is double elimination so a contestant is guaranteed to play the qualifyer and two other rounds and is bracketed by age.  The cost is $40.00 to enter.
  • ANNUAL SUMMER END TOURNAMENT: An 18 hole event,bracketed by age, in mid August on a Saturday.  The is a 40 player limit and in 2005 the event was full +.  It is presently a shot-gun start but may go to tee times to accommodate more players. Cost is $25.00 to enter.
  • HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT: Held just before Christmas (12/17/05). An 18 hole event and is the same format as the Summer Tournament.
  • OTHER TOURNAMENTS: Other tournaments are in the planning stage and will be posted on this Web Site.
